Soccer Report: Jesuit wins district opener; Haynes edges East Jefferson
Jesuit opened District 6-I action with a convincing 8-0 victory Monday evening over St. Augustine at John Ryan Stadium.
The Blue Jays (2-1) lost their opener to defending state champion St. Paul’s and have rebounded with a pair of wins. The Purple Knights (0-1) fell in their season opener.
Jesuit will host Grace King on Nov. 29 while St. Augustine plays at Archbishop Rummel on Nov. 30.
In girls action, Haynes edged East Jefferson 2-1 at Joe Yenni Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets (1-1) will take the break for Thanksgiving before traveling to Archbishop Hannan next Tuesday while the Warriors (0-2-1) will host Ben Franklin next Monday afternoon.
