Soccer: Ramos nets 5 goals as Bonnabel overcomes Riverdale
Area Prep Soccer Report for Friday, Jan. 22
It was an amazing time on the pitch for junior Sebastian Ramos of Bonnabel.
Helping the Bruins fight back from a deficit, Ramos had a unique, incredible day, scoring all five goals as Bonnabel fought past Riverdale 5-4 Thursday.
The Rebels jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Bruins began their stirring comeback, cutting the deficit to 3-2 by halftime.
The Bruins surged past the Rebels in the second half behind the heroics of Ramos, who scored two goals in a win over Covington earlier this season.
Bonnabel was ranked seventh in this week’s Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association Division II poll while Riverdale was ranked 16th.
The Bruins (4-3), 16th in the most recent LHSAA Division II power rankings, will travel to Belle Chasse Monday at 6 p.m. while the Rebels (5-4-1), 18th in the power rankings, will make a short trip to Archbishop Rummel at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
