It was a banner Saturday for New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy on the pitch in Baton Rouge.

The 24th-seeded Bulldogs went to ninth-seed Parkview Baptist and upset the Eagles 1-0 in the opening round of the Division III state playoffs for the first playoff win in the young program’s history.

NOMMA advances to play at eighth-seed St. Martinville in the regional round.

On the Lakefront, it was not as good of a day for 15th-seed Ben Franklin.

It was raining and 18th-seed Live Oak rained on the Falcons’ parade, upsetting the Falcons 3-1 in the opening round of the Division II playoffs.

Cole Schultz put the Eagles on top 1-0 in the first half. Collin Schultz scored the second goal in the second half on an assist by Cole Schultz to make it 2-0. After Nate Stewart scored for Ben Franklin on a free kick to make it 2-1 with just over five minutes remaining, Collin Schultz put the game away on a penalty kick to account for the final score.

Live Oak (9-9) advances to the regional round to play at second-seeded Beau Chene Thursday at 7 p.m. at Donald Gardner Stadium in Opelousas. The Gators defeated the Eagles 4-1 on Jan. 5. Ben Franklin ended its season 10-9-4.

Also in Division II, 10th-seed Terrebonne edged 23rd-seeded Natchitoches Central 2-1 at Thomas B. Smith Memorial Stadium in Houma.

The Tigers (18-3-8) jumped on top late in the first half on an own-goal off of a Chiefs’ player for a 1-0 lead. Terrebonne got the clinching goal with just over four minutes left on a goal by Mauro Ramirez on a penalty kick.

Braden Arnold pulled Natchitoches Central (5-10-4) closer with two minutes left to make it 2-1 but the Chiefs could not get the equalizer.

Terrebonne advances to the regional round, traveling to seventh-seeded Neville.

Central Lafourche, the 17th-seed, went on the road and defeated 16th-seed Westgate 3-1. The Trojans advance to play at top-seed Holy Cross.

In Division III, St. Michael The Archangel fought off 17th-seeded Bolton 3-2.

Kyle Segalla scored a pair of goals for the Warriors (15-11-3) while Alec Hodges added the third goal. David Gandarilla and Eddie Hernandez scored for Bolton (9-8-3).

St. Michael advances to the regional round to take on No. seed E.D. White.
