Soccer Playoffs: Newman teams, Northshore and Northlake Christian girls in semifinal action Friday

Prep Soccer Playoff Report for Friday, Feb. 17

Today, four area teams will look to punch their ticket to the LHSAA state soccer finals next week in Hammond.

It is a daily double for Newman as the Greenie girls and boys are in action in a doubleheader at Lupin Field.

The sixth seeded Newman girls (18-4-5) host No. 23 Northlake Christian (10-6-3) at 4:30 before the top-seeded Greenie boys host No. 5 Episcopal at 7:30 p.m.

In the Division I girls semifinals, No. 7 Northshore (16-6-2) makes the trip to No. 6 Dutchtown (18-2-2) for a 6 p.m. battle.

In boys action, top seed Newman (19-2-4) hosts No. 5 Episcopal (14-4-3) at 7:30 p.m. with the winner to advance to the title match.
