Soccer Playoff Report: Destrehan travels to Lakeshore in quarterfinal showdown
The seeds, results and skill sets are similar.
It should be a very close match when fifth-seed Destrehan travels to Mandeville to take on fourth-seed Lakeshore in the girls soccer Division II quarterfinals Saturday evening at 5 p.m.
The Wildcats advanced with a convincing 6-0 home win over 21st-seed Lee High while the Titans dumped 13th-seed Central at home by the same score in the regional round.
Destrehan (14-6-1) has not lost since falling to two-time defending Division I state champion Mount Carmel on Jan. 6. Lakeshore (14-9) is a hot team as well, on a six-match win streak. The Titans have not lost since falling to Ben Franklin on Jan. 13.
On Friday, second-seed St. Louis Catholic eliminated seventh-seeded Archbishop Hannan 7-1 in girls quarterfinal action in Lake Charles. The Hawks end their season 13-7-3.
