Soccer: Mount Carmel, Northshore win openers at Mandeville Tournament

Mount Carmel and Northshore opened play in the Mandeville Tournament with shutout wins Wednesday evening.

The Cubs won their 11th straight match, whipping St. Joseph’s Academy 4-0 to improve to 17-1 on the season. The Redstickers fell to 6-3-2 with the loss.

Northshore edged Lakeshore 1-0. The Panthers improved to 4-2-3 with the win while the Titans fell to 3-8 with the loss.

Lakeshore plays St. Joseph’s Academy today at 3 p.m. while Mount Carmel returns to action tonight at 7:30 p.m. against West Monroe.

In other Mandeville tournament games today, Slidell faces Baton Rouge at 3 p.m. on Field 1, St. Scholastica squares off with St. Amant at 4 p.m. and Dominican faces Mandeville at 6 p.m.
