Soccer: Mount Carmel, Northshore win openers at Mandeville Tournament

Mount Carmel and Northshore opened play in the Mandeville Tournament with shutout wins Wednesday evening.

The Cubs won their 11^th straight match, whipping St. Joseph’s Academy 4-0 to improve to 17-1 on the season. The Redstickers fell to 6-3-2 with the loss.

Northshore edged Lakeshore 1-0. The Panthers improved to 4-2-3 with the win while the Titans fell to 3-8 with the loss.

Lakeshore plays St. Joseph’s Academy today at 3 p.m. while Mount Carmel returns to action tonight at 7:30 p.m. against West Monroe.

In other Mandeville tournament games today, Slidell faces Baton Rouge at 3 p.m. on Field 1, St. Scholastica squares off with St. Amant at 4 p.m. and Dominican faces Mandeville at 6 p.m.
