Soccer: Mandeville blanks three foes Saturday in Covington tourney
Area Prep Soccer Report for Sunday, Nov. 18
Mandeville was sharp on both ends Saturday on the pitch.
After losing its first two matches of the season, the Skippers bounced back with three wins yesterday.
Mandeville blanked Chalmette 7-0 and shutout De La Salle 3-0 and St. Michael 3-0 in the Covington High Tournament.
Junior striker Jacob Vekic starred for the Skippers, scoring five goals in the three matches, including two each against the Owls and Cavaliers while sophomore Caden Costa scored two goals on the day. Vekic now has eight goals in just five games for Mandeville.
The Skippers return to action Monday night at Walker at 7:35 p.m.
