Soccer: Jesuit, Holy Cross post shutout wins Monday

In a matchup of highly ranked teams Monday, No. 1 Jesuit handled Mandeville 4-0.
The Blue Jays scored a pair of goals in each half in a dominant performance.
The Blue Jays (5-0-1) have allowed just one goal, that coming in a tie against highly ranked Catholic of Baton Rouge.
The Skippers fell to 6-3 with the defeat. They have faced tough competition, losing to St. Paul’s and Jesuit in succession.
Holy Cross blanked Archbishop Hannan 5-0 in tournament play at Hannan.
Junior Ethan Carney scored a pair of first half goals while senior Camden Carroll and junior Ryan Jeanfreau each added a goal as the Tigers built an insurmountable 4-0 halftime lead.
Senior Carlos Castellanos added the final goal on a penalty kick in the second half.
Holy Cross (7-2-2) plays Grace King in the tournament today. The Fighting Irish shutout Northshore 4-0 Monday.
