Soccer: Jesuit, Holy Cross, Lusher, ESA still top boys rankings

Once again, Jesuit, Holy Cross, Lusher Charter and Episcopal of Acadiana remain the top ranked teams in the state in the latest Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings released Monday.

Unbeaten Jesuit received seven first-place votes to edge Catholic of Baton Rouge for the top spot in Division I. The Bears got three first-place votes. Two-time defending state champion St. Paul’s is third with Dutchtown fourth and Denham Springs fifth. Brother Martin is now ninth with Mandeville tenth.

Three-time defending state champion Holy Cross tops the Division II rankings with Ben Franklin second. St. Thomas More is third with East Jefferson fourth and Benton fifth. Bonnabel is No. 6 and Lakeshore checks in at No. 10.

Unbeaten Lusher Charter received nine first-place votes and is No. 1 in Division II with University High second with the other first-place vote. Parkview Baptist is third with Loyola Prep fourth and North Vermilion fifth.

Episcopal of Acadiana stays on top in Division IV with Pope John Paul II second and Northlake Christian third. Episcopal is fourth with Newman No. 5. Country Day is sevfenth with St. Thomas Aquinas ninth.
