Soccer: Hannan, Holy Cross post shutout victories
After opening the season with a 3-3 tie at New Iberia, Archbishop Hannan picked up its first win of the season, shutting out Archbishop Rummel 2-0 on the north shore.
Senior Gavyn Keim and junior Henry Nader each put the ball in the net for the Hawks.
Both teams will face the same opponent in their next match. The Hawks (1-0-1) play at Northshore Friday at 7 p.m. while the Raiders (0-2) head to Slidell to play at Northshore Monday at 4 p.m.
Holy Cross went to Joe Zimmerman Stadium and blanked Archbishop Shaw 6-0 behind a pair of goals by Sebastian Magee. The Tigers scored three goals in each half for the easy win.
The Tigers (2-1) will next host Central Lafourche on Dec. 3 while the Eagles (0-1) will entertain Patrick Taylor Friday at 4 p.m.
