Soccer: Hannan edges Ascension Episcopal, EJ boys and girls to host Helen Cox

Area Prep Soccer Report for Thursday, Dec. 20

Archbishop Hannan went on the road and scored a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ascension Episcopal in girls action Wednesday.

Junior Emily Barre scored the game’s lone goal in the second half while sophomore Chloe Guerin got the assist on the goal.

The Hawks (7-4-1) are 13th in the most recent Division III power rankings. Hannan will take a break before hosting Catholic (NI) on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. Ascension Episcopal (2-4-1) is off until Jan. 5 at Opelousas Catholic.

Today, Helen Cox travels to Metairie to take on East Jefferson in both girls and boys action.

The girls will meet at 4:30 p.m. with the boys to follow at 6 p.m. at Joe Yenni Stadium.

The Warrior boys are 3-4-2 while the Cougars are 6-1-1. The Warrior girls are 3-7 while the Cougar girls are 0-5 on the season.
