Soccer: East Jefferson, Pearl River boys remain impressive with wins

Area Prep Soccer Report for Saturday, Dec. 8

East Jefferson and Pearl River have started the boys prep soccer season in very solid fashion.

At the Lakeshore Tournament in Mandeville, East Jefferson downed Hahnville 3-1.

Senior Eric Lara led the way for the Warriors with a goal and an assist while Carlos Sandoval and junior Erick Gunera also put the ball in the back of the net for East Jefferson (6-1).

The Warriors return to action in the Lakeshore Tournament today against Covington at 3:25 p.m. Hahnville fell to 1-6-1 with the defeat.

Pearl River shutout Chalmette 3-0 at Pearl River. The Rebels scored two goals in the first half and added a goal in the second half.

Seniors Logan Anglin, Dylan Beard and Eduar Machado each scored a goal for the Rebels (5-1). Both teams return to action next Tuesday as Pearl River will host Mandeville at 5 p.m. while the Owls (1-5-2) will play at Brother Martin at 3:30 p.m.
