Soccer: Cabrini handles St. Martin’s, 5-0, SBW whips St. Aug

Area Prep Soccer Report for Tuesday, Nov. 22

Cabrini blanked St. Martin’s Episcopal 5-0 on the pitch Monday at Pan American Stadium.

Senior Brenna Marrione opened the scoring with a direct free kick before freshman Logan Dempsey added a pair of goals to increase the lead to 3-0, the second on a cross from senior Kaya Bulmer.

Freshman Dylan Moisant made it 4-0 before Marrione put in her second goal to complete the scoring.

Seniors Danika Labruzzo-Fullen and Makenna Borne were standouts defensive for Cabrini.

The Crescents (1-1) return to action this evening at 6 p.m. against De La Salle.

The Saints (0-1) will play Ursuline Academy next Monday.

In boys action, Sophie B. Wright whipped St. Augustine 9-2 in its season opener in a match played at the Matt Savoie Soccer Complex.

Team captin Juan Izaguirre had an incredible game, scoring five goals. Darwin Chicas, Elvis Guity and Jorge Mejia each added a goal.

The Warriors will face Booker T. Washington next Monday.
