Soccer: Brother Martin, Grace King play to draw
It has been a season of near victories and frustrating draws for Brother Martin and Grace King. Both sides are good teams and are likely to break through soon but the season of ties continued Thursday at Farley Field.
The eighth-ranked Crusaders played to a 1-1 tie with the Fighting Irish.
After a scoreless first half, Blake Robbins gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 65th minute. The Fighting Irish fought back, getting the equalizer eight minutes later on a goal by Kenroy Rodriguez.
It was the fourth draw of the season for the Crusaders (4-3-4) while Grace King played to its third tie of the season (3-1-3). Brother Martin returns to action at Archbishop Shaw Saturday at 10 a.m. while the Fighting Irish play at Hahnville Friday at 5:30 p.m.
