HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts Memphis in a three-game series this weekend at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Lion fans are asked to wear green to the ballpark for Friday’s series opener. All general admission tickets are also $5 Friday. The SLU Athletic Ticket Office is currently accepting cash only.
Fans can play the popular Baseball Bingo game Saturday. Free general admission tickets are available each Sunday home game for active military members, as well as veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, by presenting a valid service ID at the ticket booth.
All three games between the Lions (11-6) and Tigers (9-8) will be carried on ESPN+. Fans can listen to the games online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via both the Lions Gameday Experience or TuneIn apps. The series marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the diamond.
Southeastern will send right-hander Brennan Stuprich (1-2, 5.31) to the mound in the series opener. He will match up against Tiger right-hander David Warren (2-0, 4.58).
Junior right-hander Will Kinzeler (3-0, 2.42) draws the starting assignment Saturday for the Lions while Memphis has not announced a starting pitcher for the middle game of the series.
Sunday’s pitching matchup features SLU junior right-hander Andrew Landry (2-1, 3.68) and Tiger freshman right-hander Seth Garner (0-2, 5.68).
SLU dropped its last game, 8-1, to No 25-ranked Southern Miss after winning back-to-back games at No. 11-ranked Auburn to claim the weekend series.
The Lions lead the nation in HBPs (65) and rank fourth in stolen bases (55).
Southeastern’s offense is led by Tyler Finke (.352), Shea Thomas (.321), Champ Artigues (.318) and Southland Conference Hitter of the Week Jake Killingsworth (.314). Rhett Rosevear ranks second in the nation in HBPs (13) while Finke ranks third nationally in stolen bases (17).
Memphis is coming off a 3-2 win Tuesday at Little Rock, snapping a six-game losing streak.
The Tigers’ offense is led by Anthony Hansen (.386), Austin Baskin (.367) and Logan Kohler (.321). Hansen leads the squad with four home runs while both Tyler Heckert and Brayland Skinner have driven in a team-leading 15 runs and stolen eight bases each.

Southeastern returns to the road for the next five games, kicking off the road trip with a mid-week contest against UL Lafayette at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Lafayette, Louisiana at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park.
