HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana men’s basketball team announced the addition of Denver University transfer Roscoe Eastmond to the 2021-22 roster, third-year SLU head coach David Kiefer announced Friday.

Eastmond (5-9, 150, PG), a sophomore, played in 51 games with 10 starts in two seasons for Denver averaging 21.6 minutes per game. The Marietta, Georgia native led the team in assists as a freshman with 87 and was second in steals with 29.

“He’s been a winner at every level,” said Kiefer. “He brings experience, leadership and toughness to the point guard position that I think will be extremely valuable to us.”

A Wheeler High School grad, Eastmond scored a career-high 15 points back on Jan. 31, 2020 against South Dakota.

At Wheeler, Eastmond was named first team All-Region 7A averaging 14 points and six assists per game as a senior for WHS.

Eastmond also played for one of the top travel programs in the entire country, Game Elite, out of Georgia in high school.

“The coaching staff welcomed me with open arms,” said Eastmond. “They made me feel like I could be a real asset to the team. I’m blessed with the opportunity and looking forward to playing for this coaching staff and working with the players on the team.”
