Shaw sweeps Johnny Cortes Dual matches; Brother Martin 3rd, St. Paul’s 7th in Prep Slam

At the Johnny Cortes Memorial Duals, Archbishop Shaw swept through five opponents, defeating Lakeshore 66-18, beating Belle Chasse 53-15, knocking off Hahnvill3 54-27 and handling De La Salle 66-18 and blasting South Plaquemines 76-6.

Hahnville won all four of its five matches, defeating Lakeshore 58-18, edging Belle Chasse 42-36 and whipping South Plaquemines 60-12 and defeating De La Salle 42-33.

Belle Chasse defeated Lakeshore 42-30.

Lakeshore edged De La Salle 39-34 and defeated South Plaquemines 36-34.

At the Prep Slam in Georgia, Brother Martin finished third among 46 teams competing from 12 states. Kyle West finished second at 220 pounds.

Baylor High of Tennessee won the event with Tampa Jesuit finishing second.

St. Paul’s finished seventh with Peyton Ward capturing the championship at 152 pounds.

Datremecious White of Evangel Christian won the title at 28 pounds.

The Crusaders finished second in the Prep Slam in 2019.
