NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Tulane baseball team continues its five-game homestand this weekend, hosting the UCF Knights for a three-game American Athletic Conference series at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium beginning Friday.

Friday is Scout Night at the park, as local scouts can get a ticket to the game for just $5 if you come to the game in your uniform. Saturday is all about New Orleans on 504 Day, as the giveaway that day will be sunglasses for fans who attend the game. Kids will be able to enjoy inflatables, while parents will be able to take part in Cinco de Mayo festivities with specials on Margaritas on Sunday.

All three games of the series will be streamed online at TulaneGreenWave.com, with Todd Graffagnini providing play-by-play of all the action on WRBH 88.3 FM in New Orleans.

The Green Wave head into a new month looking to get off to a fresh start after falling to the New Orleans Privateers 14-9 on Tuesday in the final game of the 2019 Pelican Cup series, coming into the weekend with a 27-17 overall record. Tulane is still second in the league standings at 9-5 in The American, looking to take its third home league series of the year this weekend.

Tulane continues to hit a high clip with its .309 batting average as a squad, earning another double figure hitting performance against New Orleans with 14 base knocks, including a triple and three home runs.

Leading the charge was freshman Hudson Haskin who finished the game going 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and runs scored. He hit his second home run in as many games on Tuesday, and over the course of the last 10 games has had three or more hits in six, sporting a .500 batting average in league games which tops the conference.

Haskin along with David Bedgood and Luke Glancy combined for the three home runs for Tulane in the game on Tuesday, as the trio have seven each to sit in a tie for third in the category. Bedgood and Glancy each had three hits as well, as the three combined for nine of 14 Green Wave hits.

Junior Kody Hoese continues to lead the team and conference in most of the major statistical categories, remaining tied for the lead in home runs in the country at 21, while also hitting .408 at the plate.

The Tulane pitching staff has seen some solid outings from its relievers, as senior Ryan Green put together another solid outing on Tuesday as he struck out three in 1.1 innings of work. Green has struck out seven in his last two outings over 4.1 innings.

Along with Green, Robert Price has strung together some positive performances recently as Tuesday he also helped to keep New Orleans off the board for three innings with two strikeouts and a walk. Against Memphis two weeks ago he allowed just a hit in two innings.

UCF comes into the series off of a 9-7 extra-inning win over North Florida on Tuesday, sitting at 27-18 overall and 7-11 in the conference. The Knights pulled out its second league series last weekend against Memphis but have won just twice on the road this season against American Athletic Conference Opponents.
