Salmen promotes Rushing to head boys basketball coach

Salmen has promoted assistant coach Ryan Rushing to head boys basketball coach.

Rushing succeeds Ben Young, who departed to become the new head coach at Episcopal in Baton Rouge.

Rushing spent one year as the top assistant to Young. Rushing is a product of the north shore as a graduate of Fontainebleau.

Young spent two years at Salmen, compiling a 45-23 record, including 23-10 mark and second round playoff appearance a year ago.

Rushing is the third head coach in four years for the Spartans. Josh Carlin departed Salmen following the 2020 season to become the head coach at Northshore.
