Jadeveon Clowney

The Saints are hungry to return to the Super Bowl, and it appears they are not done trying to significantly improve their roster with the regular season now just over a week away.

The Saints and Titans are both making a push to sign defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, according to an initial report Thursday by ESPN’s Dianna Rusini.

If New Orleans wants to add Clowney, NFL Network reports the team must clear more than the $7 million in cap space it had currently.

ProFootballTalk.com reported that Mickey Loomis trekked Friday night to Texas to visit Clowney.

To complicate matters further, Clowney’s representation is now in flux. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the defensive end has fired agent Bus Cook.

The 27-year-old Clowney had 31 tackles and three sacks in 13 games last season with the Seahawks. Before that, the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft played for the Texans, making three Pro Bowl appearances.
