After placing starting quarterback Drew Brees on injured reserve, the Saints decided to sign another quarterback.

Former Broncos starter Trevor Siemian was signed Friday from the Titans practice squad, according to Siemian’s agent Mike McCartney.

Siemian was a seventh-round pick by the Broncos out of Northwestern in 2015 and went on to start 25 NFL games with a 13-12 record including a victory with Denver over New Orleans in 2016. He was traded to the Vikings in 2018 and served as a backup with the Jets last season.

Taysom Hill is reportedly set to start at quarterback Sunday for the Saints with Brees sideline while the 28-year old Siemian will be the third string option behind backup Jameis Winston.
