Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux is a local product and a great story of perseverance. But that does not make him immune to the hard realities of the NFL.

Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports via a source that the Saints are looking to trade the McDonogh 35 alum and former LSU signee.

According to the report, Breaux is drawing some interest from other teams.

The Saints are ready to ship off Breaux due to his injury issues during his two-plus seasons with the team. Since the opening game of last season, he has missed time with a broken fibula, a shoulder strain and a left leg injury that has him sidelined currently in training camp.

Later Monday, Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported Breaux‘s injury is more serious than a contusion yet not a long-term issue. Breaux , who reportedly had X-rays on his leg Monday, was later seen wearing a walking boot and using crutches.

The 27-year old Breaux came back from a broken neck in a game at McDonogh 35 to recover fully and make it back onto the field in the Arena League before his time north of the border. The former CFL standout eventually worked his way into a starting role in New Orleans.
