The Saints will wear both a patch on the left chest and a decal on the back of their helmets this season to pay tribute to late owner Tom Benson.

The team revealed the tributes via social media Thursday afternoon, hours before the team kicks off its preseason schedule.

The circular tribute logo features the initials “TB” and a silhouette of Benson holding an umbrella doing the “Benson Boogie” – his famous postgame victory dance from his early days as the team’s owner.

Benson, who purchased the Saints from John Mecom in 1985, died March 15 after a brief illness. He was 90.

The Saints open the preseason Thursday night at Jacksonville. The first preseason home game is Aug. 17 against Arizona in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, with the regular-season opener on Sept. 9 at home against Tampa Bay.
