Saints restructure contract of kicker Wil Lutz to free up cap space
In what was expected to be a string of restructured contracts by the Saints in efforts to get below the salary cap, kicker Wil Lutz helped free up cap space Thursday.
Lutz agreed to convert most of his base salary into a signing bonus to give New Orleans $1.74 million in cap space this season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

His special teamer teammate Thomas Morstead was cut loose by the Saints but Lutz, who will be 27 at the start of the 2021 season, returns with three years left on his current contract.
