Saints release RB Malcolm Brown, waive/injured CB Bryce Thompson

The New Orleans Saints have released veteran running back Malcolm Brown.

The transaction was listed on the Wednesday NFL transactions report.

Brown signed right before the startof training camp to compete for a backup running back role.

The 29-year old has 1,650 career yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns. He started three games last year for the Dolphins but did little to distinguish himself. Brown was with the Rams for the six previous seasons.

The Saints also waived cornerback Bryce Thompson with an injury designation. The former Tennessee Vol was a UDFA signing in 2021.
