The New Orleans Saints have re-signed safety D.J. Swearinger, reports Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

The 28-year-old played just one game with New Orleans and made a couple of tackles and broke up one pass in the regular season finale at Carolina.
Swearinger was the starting safety for the Washington Redskins in 2017 and 2018, making eight interceptions and over 130 tackles. Drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft, the South Carolina has played for six NFL teams.
with the additions of Swearinger and Malcolm Jenkins this offseason, it appears unlikely free agency safety Vonn Bell will return.
