The Saints will have to use someone else to take the top off opposing defenses.

Ian Rapaport is reporting that wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr. has been placed on injured reserve with a lingering knee injury.

The 33-year-old Ginn, Jr. has 12 catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns. More opportunities will be available for rookie Tre’Quan Smith as a speed threat in the Saints passing attack.

The injury list grew larger for New Orleans on Thursday, and the offensive line is a real concern.

Starting guards Andrus Peat (head) and Larry Warford (back) did not practice while reserve Jermon Bushrod did not work, either, though his absence was non-injury related. Defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth (ankle) was also out for a second consecutive day.

The Saints play at Baltimore Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
