Saints LB Kwon Alexander tackles Clyde Edwards-Helaire

The Saints placed linebacker Kwon Alexander on injured reserve Monday, according to the NFL’s daily transactions report.

The former LSU standout tore his Achilles on Friday during the New Orleans win over Minnesota.

Acquired by the Saints in a midseason trade with the 49ers, Alexander had 27 tackles, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in seven games with the team.

Alexander may not play for the Saints again. The rest of his contract with two years remaining are not guaranteed.
