Saints-Panthers Injury Report: Michael Thomas now dealing with hamstring issue

Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was a limited participant on the first team practice report since their bye week. That’s not surprising since he is recovering from a high ankle sprain that has kept him out the past five games.
What was not expected is that he was also listed with a hamstring injury.
However, head coach Sean Payton had a somewhat optimistic if vague tone about the status of last year’s NFC Offensive Player of the Year for the NFC South matchup Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
“We’ll see. I think he’s feeling better. [But] we really don’t get into injuries or projections,” Payton said Wednesday morning. Payton also said there will be no further disciplinary measures taken against Thomas for an incident at practice on Oct. 10.
The bye week did help other Saints who have been dealing with injuries show improvement. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins practiced fully after the past two games with a shoulder injury. Receiver and return specialist Deonte Harris was also a full participant as he recovers from a hamstring issue.
Two more starters – defensive end Marcus Davenport and cornerback Marshon Lattimore – were not listed on the report after both played with injury concerns in New Orleans’ last game, a victory in overtime over the L.A. Chargers.
As for Carolina, former LSU and Riverdale standout Donte’ Jackson was limited with a toe injury while another cornerback – former Saints starter Eli Apple – appears to be on track to play Sunday despite missing the past two Panthers games due to a hamstring injury.
