The Saints have decided to release defensive end Noah Spence, undrafted rookie running back Stevie Scott and veteran cornerback Prince Amukamara.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football first reported the Spence and Scott moves while ESPN’s Mike Triplett posted that the Saints let Amukamara go before Sunday’s practice.

Spence tore his ACL last year but returned to the Saints on a one-year deal worth the league minimum. The former Buccaneers second-round pick who started his college career at Ohio State and transferred to Eastern Kentucky also spent time with Washington before coming to New Orleans in March 2020.

Scott, an Indiana product, had little chance to move up the depth chart at a loaded Saints position group.

The 32-year old Amukamara had signed early in training camp after spending 2020 on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.

The moves are part of an effort to pare the camp roster down to 85 before the NFL’s Tuesday afternoon deadline.
