New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton said at NFL meetings in Orlando that tight end and wide receiver were positions his team “must” find upgrades. A pair of free agents who could fit the bill have met with team officials.

The Saints may fill a void at tight end with another former player after losing out on Jimmy Graham in free agency. Benjamin Watson has visited with the Saints, according to a report by ESPN’s Field Yates.

Watson, 37, turned in a career year for the Saints in 2015, racking up 74 catches, 825 yards and six touchdowns but he then chose to sign as a free agent with the Ravens.

Bears wide receiver Cameron Meredith visited with the Saints over the weekend, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.

A restricted free agent, Meredith tore the ACL in his left knee last season after notching 66 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns in 2016. Saints wide receivers coach Curtis Johnson served the same role with the Bears during that breakout campaign by Meredith.
