Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston may not be able to take the field in the season opener against the New Orleans Saints.

A report by JoeBucsFan.com detalls how Winston did not report to the NFL about an incident with a female Uber driver two years ago.

A player must report to the league any behavior or accusation that, if true, would violate the NFL conduct policy. Winston was accused on inappropriate touching by the driver in November of last year, 20 months after the alleged incident.

ESPN Radio Tallahassee host Jeff Cameron reported that expectations are a suspension is imminent.

“The Winston camp is prepared for the NFL to levy a suspension of some kind, The thought from the Winston camp is that would be a maximum of three games,” said Cameron.

Whether Winston is guilty of anything legally from the incident is irrelevant regarding the potential suspension. The league rules violation means a likely multiple game suspension, and even an appeal by Winston cannot be expected to wipe out all of a suspension.

Veteran backup Ryan Fitzpatrick is second string on the Tampa Bay quarterback depth chart behind Winston.
