Saints make initial roster cuts down to 53

The New Orleans Saints spent Saturday trimming their roster down to the 53-man limit by focusing on the men who have spent the past 40 days in their building.

Adding a player or two from somebody else’s building is likely the next step in the churn of the active roster that sometimes doesn’t stop until the night before the season opener.

For now, here are the 53 players to fill out the Saints roster heading toward the season opener:
