The third annual Saints Hall of Fame weekend in Biloxi turned out to be very successful.

On Thursday night, the first Saints Hall of Fame Auction/Reception on the coast was held at IP Casino Resort Spa with over 200 in attendance. There were 22 items auctioned off, including a host of New Orleans Saints items, a few New Orleans Pelicans items and several hotel packages.

On Friday, the golf tournament at beautiful Fallen Oak was won by the WIndance team captained by Saints Hall of Fame inductee Jim Dombrowski. The team consisted of John Carter, Jake Carter, Mickey D’Angelo and Jay Osbourne.

On Friday afternoon, rained prohibited the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans from setting up all of the interactive displays but the adult football safety seminar went on as planned. A basketball interactive area set up by the Pelicans was a new feature.

Friday evening, the Biloxi Shuckers downed the Mississippi Braves 5-0 to win the Southern League South Division first half title. Zack Brown moved to 6-0 for the Shuckers, pitching a gem. Brown carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning. He got the first two outs before allowing a bloop single to center to Daniel Lockhart to end the no-hit bid. Brown got the final out for the win.

A host of prominent New Orleans Saints alumni participated in all of the events. They were introduced on Thursday night at the Auction/Reception and on Friday evening on the field at MGM Park prior to the baseball game before signing autographs for patrons throughout the entire game.

Those participating included current New Orleans Saints Wil Lutz, David Onyemata and Zach Wood.

Pierre Thomas, who will be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in September, participated along with New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans Executive Vice President and General Manager Mickey Loomis.

Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees Rickey Jackson and Willie Roaf were on hand, along with Saints Hall of Fame inductees Dombrowski, Dalton Hilliard, Tyrone Hughes, Jackson, Michael Lewis and Roaf.

Saints alumni participating included Chuck Commiskey, Brad Edelman Skyler Green, Larry Hardy, Steve Korte, Tyrone Legette, Derrick Lewis, Mike McKenzie, Mel Mitchell, Vernon Perry, Tom Roussel, Mike Strachan and Emmanuel Zanders.

The weekend was sponsored by the New Orleans Saints, the Saints Hall of Fame, The City of Biloxi, The Biloxi Shuckers Beau Rivage Resort and Casnio and IP Casino Report Spa.
