Saints Free Agency: Mario Edwards visits, Jared Cook up next
The Saints hosted Mario Edwards for a visit Wednesday night, according to a source. The defensive lineman was at team headquarters just hours after the official opening of free agency, Pro Football Talk first reported.
Jared Cook, likely the best available free agent tight end, is scheduled to meet with the Saints on Thursday, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Edwards began his career with the Oakland Raiders before hooking on with the New York Giants last season, where he collected two sacks.
Cook has played 10 seasons in the NFL, including the past two years with Oakland. He caught 69 passed for 896 yards and six touchdowns this past season for the Raiders to earn a Pro Bowl selection.
