Report: Saints DB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson limits practice activity seeking new contract

Saints defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is taking a stance in training camp with regards to earning a new contract.

Gardner-Johnson “has limited his activity in recent practices as he seeks a new contract, per source,” Nick Underhill of New Orleans.Football reported Wednesday.

Gardner-Johnson, currently in the final year of his rookie contract, is the team’s starter in the slot as the nickel back. The former Florida Gators has 161 tackles with 15 for losses, 28 passes defended, five interceptions one forced fumble and three sacks in his career spanning 43 games and 32 starts.
