Saints bring back tight end Ben Watson on one-year deal

Saints head coach Sean Payton said this week that improving the tight end position is a “must” this offseason. The team has responded by bringing back a proven commodity.
Benjamin Watson signed a one-year deal with the Saints on Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Watson, 37, came back from a torn Achilles that cost him his entire 2016 season to catch 61 passes for 522 yards and four touchdowns with Baltimore last season. He signed with the Ravens two years ago after a productive season in New Orleans.
The Saints lost out earlier this month on a reunion with former tight end Jimmy Graham, who signed instead with the the Packers.
