The New Orleans Saints lost veteran linebacker Nate Stupar to a torn ACL in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 52-38 win over the Detroit Lions.

Filling the void for Stupar’s loss on special teams, the Saints have brought back former special teams captain Michael Mauti.

The team also promoted running back Daniel Lasco to the 53-man roster and re-signed defensive tackle John Hughes. Rookie linebacker Adam Bighill was waived and offensive tackle Bryce Harris was released.

Mauti, a Mandeville High alum and son of former Saints wide receiver Rich Mauti, played the last two seasons in New Orleans but did not make the roster out of training camp this year.
