The New Orleans Saints have officially signed wide receiver Bennie Fowler and defensive end Margus Hunt back to their active roster, placed running back Ty Montgomery on injured reserve and waived offensive lineman Will Clapp.

It’s been routine during the week early in the season to moved the veterans Fowler and Hunt back and forth from the practice squad to the roster ahead of game day. Under the NFL’s new roster rules for 2020, Fowler and Hunt could be called up from the practice squad to the active roster twice before being added to the 53-man roster.

Montgomery (hamstring) was added to the Saints’ injury report Friday. Since he is now on IR, he will miss at least three weeks.

Clapp, the former Brother Martin and LSU standout, has been a backup at the guard spots with the ability to play center and serve as a blocking tight end.
