HOUMA – Recent Academy of our Sacred Heart graduate Cassidy Lambert shot a second straight 1-over-par 73 Thursday to take a four-shot victory over Sarah Knight and capture the Louisiana Girls Junior Amateur championship at Ellendale Golf Club.

Lambert trailed Knight by two strokes entering the final day of the 36-hole event. She made up the deficit on the first hole Thursday and then finished strong with two birdies on the final three holes.

For Lambert, a resident of Gretna, it is her third career Girls Junior Amateur title, also winning in 2018 and 2019. At Sacred Heart, Lambert won medalist honors in the Division II LHSAA championship as a freshman, finished fourth as a sophomore and third this spring.
