Taylor Russolino

The XFL is primed to return after its hiatus triggered by the pandemic. A new franchise, the Arlington Renegades, has a New Orleans feel to it after the league’s draft this week.

Former Denver Broncos kicker Taylor Russolino was Arlington’s top overall pick in the specialists portion of the draft. The Archbishop Rummel alum was a 3-time all-conference kicker at Millsaps College who went on to kick for the Broncos in 2020. The 33-year old is also a veteran of the CFL and indoor football including a stint with the now defunct New Orleans VooDoo.

The Renegades also draft a pair of standouts from the New Orleans Breakers this past season in the reborn USFL.

Quarterback Kyle Sloter and tight end Sal Cannella could also be potential Arlington players when the XFL starts its season in the spring.
