Three Archbishop Rummel student-athletes signed college scholarships Wednesday at the school library.

A pair of baseball players will remain local as Evan Francioni inked with the University of New Orleans and Lane LeBlanc signed with Delgado Community College. Track standout Jermie Walker signed with Arkansas State University.

Francioni, a two-sport standout who also played wide receiver on the Raider football team, leads Rummel with a .362 average and 13 stolen bases. He also has two home runs and 14 RBI. In five relief appearances, Francioni also has a save to his credit.

LeBlanc, a two-year starter, is batting .256 with two homers and 16 RBI.

Walker – like Francioni a wide receiver in football – is a two-time All-State selection in the 400 meters. Last month, Walker recorded the second-fastest 400 time in school history, running 47.95 in winning the 400 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic.
