Rummel pitcher Matt Villa commits to Loyola
The improving Loyola baseball program is adding another asset to its program by adding local talent.
Archbishop Rummel pitcher Matt Villa announced his commitment to Loyola via Twitter.

A senior, Villa (6-1, 185) has started since his freshman season for the Raiders, helping lead Rummel to the Division I state championship game in 2019.
Villa was off to a fabulous start in 2020, posting a 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA. Villa has 22 strikeouts in 21 and two-third innings this season.
As a junior, Villa was 5-3 with a 2.57 ERA. Villa had 60 strikeouts in 57 innings a year ago.
Villa throws in the low 80’s with his fastball but has excellent of that pitch, along with a good breaking ball and change-up.
