Rummel-John Curtis game to be carried live on Crescent City Sports, 106.1 FM

The District 9-5A showdown between Archbishop Rummel and John Curtis Christian will air live on Crescent City Sports and 106.1 FM as part of a simulcast Saturday night.

Ken Trahan of CrescentCitySports.com and Cumulus New Orleans will provide play-by-play while longtime college and prep coach Phil Greco gives color commentary as part of the Rummel radio broadcast. The pregame show starts at 6:45 ahead of the 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Raiders are coming off of a big 31-19 win over St. Augustine.

Rummel (4-1, 2-1) is led by running back Logan Diggs. The Notre Dame commit has rushed for 488 yards on 66 carries with seven touchdowns, has 14 catches for 121 yards and two scores and has returned a kick for a touchdown.

Quarterback Kyle Wickersham, a Richmond commitment, has completed 71-of-107 passes for 956 yards and 13 touchdowns with four interceptions and has rushed 31 times for 116 yards and a score.

Raiders wide receiver Nicholas Howard has 21 receptions for 243 yards and five touchdowns.

Defensive end Caboz Craig has 35 tackles, including 9.5 for loss, while linebacker Kolbe Fields, a Memphis commit, leads the Raiders with 41 tackles, including 7.5 for loss.

John Curtis (4-2, 3-0) is led by quarterback Buddy Taylor, a junior who has completed 45-of-72 passes for 491 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions. He has also rushed 77 times for 535 yards and 11 touchdowns plus four two-point conversions.

Patriots tunning back Patrick LeBranch has 42 carries for 221 yards and a touchdown and four catches for 29 yards.

Javon Davis has 22 receptions for 238 yards and three touchdowns to pace Curtis.

Defensive tackle Elinus Noel, a Lamar commit, has 29 tackles including four for loss while linebacker Kylin White is the leading tackler with 51 stops plus three sacks.

Since John Curtis joined the Catholic League in 2015, the winner of the Patriots and Raiders matchup each season has won the district championship.

Rummel edged Curtis 21-20 in an overtime thriller in 2019 on the way to an unbeaten season and Division I state championship:
