LSU men’s basketball has been in the headlines a lot lately but the Tigers will be out of the country twice later on in 2019.

A preseason tour in Spain is planned for Aug. 12-22 and participation in a pre-Thanksgiving holiday tournament in Jamaica is slated for Nov. 22-24, according to reports by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

LSU’s last offseason trip overseas came in 2015 when the team played on a summer tour of Australia. Freshman phenom Ben Simmons, a native of Australia, was on that team.

College basketball teams are able to take trips outside the country once every four years.

According to Goodman, defending SEC champion LSU will participate in the Jamaica Classic with Rhode Island, North Texas and reigning Mountain West champion Utah State.
