New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II will miss four to six weeks with a slight tear of the medial collateral ligament in his knee, reports NFL Media’ Ian Rapoport.

The New Orleans all-time leading rusher will not require surgery but his season is apparently over.

Ingram rushed seven times for a team-high 27 yards Monday at Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He added five grabs for 22 yards but ran out of bounds before reaching the first down marker in the fourth quarter. The play started a sequence of events that saw the Saints blow a 16-3 in a 17-16 loss. Ingram had left the game injured after clutching his knee earlier in the game.

Ingram has run for 8,111 yards in his career including 6,500 in two stints with New Orleans. The former Heisman Trophy winner at Alabama has over 10,000 yards form scrimmage in the NFL with 2,125 coming as a receiver.

Set to turn 33 this month, Ingram will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
