In an effort to build his staff as the new head coach of the Texas Longhorns, Steve Sarkisian is reportedly trying to poach an assistant from Ed Orgeron at LSU.

FootballScoop.com report that Sarkisian “has made a very strong offer” to LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond. The report does not indicate what role Raymond might take if he leaves for Texas.

The 51-year old Raymond, a former LSU and NFL cornerback, has been on the coaching staff at his alma mater for the past nine seasons. At this time, he is the only defensive assistant remaining on staff since the end of the Tigers’ season.
