West is staying down south.

The Saints are signing running back Terrence West, NFL.com’s Herbie Teope reported Wednesday.

West worked out for the Saints with Jamaal Charles and other veteran free agent running backs earilier in the day.

Teope indicates the door with the Saints is not closed for Charles but the team declined to sign him after the workout.

If West makes the regular season roster, he will help early on to replace Mark Ingram during his four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The 27-year-old Weat played one season each with the Browns and Titans before spending the last three years with the Ravens. In 2016, West led Baltimore with a career-high 774 yards rushing.Terrance West
