Cameron Meredith

Restricted Bears free agent wide receiver Cameron Meredith visited the Saints recently but the two sides have finally decided to make a move.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Meredith will to sign an offer sheet with New Orleans.

Chicago can match the offer but is not entitled to any compensation if they allow the Saints to keep Meredith. Schefter reports it is a two-year deal worth around $10 million. The Bears have five days from the official signing to match or refuse.

An undrafted free agent out of Illinois State, Meredith missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL, but he was a standout the previous year with the Bears by totaling 66 catches for 888 yards and four touchdowns. An interesting link mentioned previously: Saints wide receivers coach Curtis Johnson held the same post with Chicago in 2016.
