Report: Saints lose Alex Okafor for season to Achilles injury

The New Orleans Saints have lost starting defensive end Alex Okafor for the season. He tore his Achilles in Sunday in the overtime win over the Washington Redskins, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Okafor was injured in the fourth quarter and was taken off the field on a cart. 

Fourth on the team with 37 tackles and second with 4.5 sacks, Okafor signed a one-year deal with the Saints in the offseason after failing to establish himself as a starter with the Arizona Cardinals.
